        <![CDATA[<div>Four Artist Services Interns assist the Operations staff in the day-to-day&nbsp;</div><div>management of a <a href="http://www.jacobspillow.org/festival/"><b>multi-venue dance festival</b></a> and are responsible for a wide variety of logistics associated with artist services, special events, campus management and customer service. Artist Services Interns rotate between four assignments throughout the internship: <strong><a href="http://www.jacobspillow.org/landmark/performance-spaces/inside-out/">Inside/Out</a></strong> (our outdoor stage), Artist Services, Special Events, and Education/Campus Management.
<ul>
	<li>During the Inside/Out rotation, interns are the point person for most logistics regarding Inside/Out, performers for the designated week- from housing needs to coordinating technical needs with the Production Department. </li>
	<li>Artist Services duties include coordinating artist hospitality, housing and transportation and welcoming traveling artists, scholars and guests. </li>
	<li>Special Events responsibilities include serving as the liaison between Marketing, Development, Dining Services and Operations in the preparation, set up and break down of all internal and external events, as well as assisting with all outside group related activities such as tours and on-site dining. </li>
	<li>Education/Campus Management responsibilities include assisting the Artist Services Manager and the Education Department with the arrival and departure of all participants and faculty of The School at Jacob's Pillow as well as helping the grounds remain clean and presentable, ensuring patron comfort and safety, and implementing minor repairs and improvements. </li>
</ul>

<br/>All Artist Services interns assist with the implementation of Special Events, from set up of tables, chairs, and portable sound systems, to operating sound equipment during events. Additional tasks include answering general inquiries, assisting disabled patrons, and directing parking which require strong customer service skills. <br /><br />Candidates must demonstrate a genuine interest in company, stage or event management. They should be detail-oriented, be confident in a public leadership role, and organized and efficient at multi-tasking. They must be able to work long hours through frequent interruptions, lift up to 50 pounds, tackle projects both independently and collaboratively and have excellent customer service skills. Secondary language fluency a plus. A successful candidate must be able to do all of this while maintaining a positive attitude and a sense of humor.

The intern will work with all departments to address the financial goals of the organization, including artistic, educational, programmatic, operational, endowment, and capital needs. Office responsibilities include prospect research, proposal and report writing, acknowledging and stewarding gifts, creating sponsorship proposals, constituent management using Raiser's Edge database software, and participating in department strategy and planning meetings. Outside the office, the intern will help host <strong><a href="http://www.jacobspillow.org/landmark/performance-spaces/inside-out/">Inside/Out</a></strong>, assist with special events and member recruitment, coordinate Audience Tracking at free events, and as feasible, will attend and report on free talks, master classes, and other on-going parts of the Festival. Candidates should possess strong writing and analytical skills, an interest in arts advocacy, strong interpersonal skills, and general office administration skills. 

<br /><br />Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects with firm deadlines, team-oriented and discreet in relation to VIPs and confidential information. As part of the Marketing team, the Graphics/Web Design Intern also executes target-marketing promotions, assists with market research, and works in the Box Office each week.<br />&nbsp;<br />Candidates should be well versed in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop and have experience in all CS3/CS4 Adobe Design Suite&nbsp; products.         <![CDATA[<div>If you think in short copy form and love to get the right information to the right &nbsp;</div><div>people at the right time in the right way, then the marketing internship is for you. You are excited to figure out how best to position a dance artist or company to maximize exposure and fill theatres to capacity with enthusiastic audience members.<br/><Br/>

You are highly detail-oriented and excel at proofreading and editing. You are able to work effectively in a group of your peers and with multiple supervisors, can clearly articulate your thoughts and questions, and are naturally inclined to step up and help out on short notice. New software and technology is a cinch for you to learn and you're always thinking of new and more efficient ways to produce work. You've had some experience analyzing website data, you understand how to use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Flickr, and have some experience with Adobe software (specifically Photoshop and Lightroom). You are available for the full length of the summer internship and will arrive excited and ready to tackle the job.<br/><Br/>

Marketing Intern projects may include:
<ul>
	<li>E-newsletter drafting, layout, and review routing</li>
	<li>Target market research and outreach</li>
	<li>Post content and interact with the Pillow's Facebook community</li>
	<li>Organize and manage the Pillow's photo database in conjunction with the Photojournalism Intern and Festival Photographer</li>
	<li>Manage daily on-campus signage postings</li>
        <li>Represent the Pillow at community events</li>
	<li>Give excellent customer service in the Box Office (all Marketing Department Interns are required to work at least 10 hours/week in the Box Office)</li>
</ul><br/>

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;1. Pick any Festival 2012 artist and write a 100 word article about that artist for the Jacob's Pillow eclub. The intern photographs visiting companies in rehearsal when appropriate, dance classes in <a href="http://www.jacobspillow.org/education/school/"><b>The School</b></a> at Jacob's Pillow, donor events,<a href="http://www.jacobspillow.org/festival/overview/pillowtalks-tours-and-more/index.php"><b> talks</b></a>, performances on the <a href="http://www.jacobspillow.org/festival/overview/insideout/index.php"><b>outdoor stage</b></a>, and more. Intern responsibilities also include editing and cataloging all images taken into a digital photo archive and producing prints and photo CDs for Marketing and other departments in a timely manner. The Photojournalism Intern interfaces on a professional level with all departments, the public, and company members. As part of the Marketing team, the Photojournalism Intern also helps to develop strategy and execute target-marketing promotions, assists with research, and works in the Box Office each week.<br />&nbsp;<br />Candidates should possess a strong background in digital photography. Candidates should be comfortable shooting live action in low, in/outdoor, and varying light situations. Additionally, candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, organized, and effective time managers with a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. At least one of the required references or recommendations must be from a photography professor/instructor/professional, and candidates must submit a portfolio of photographic work with their application.         <![CDATA[<div>Two Press/Editorial Interns assist with all aspects of securing and maintaining &nbsp;</div><div>media coverage of Jacob's Pillow,<a href="http://www.jacobspillow.org/festival/"><b> Festival </b></a>artists and presented programs; and managing the editing and production of weekly printed programs. Press responsibilities include helping to manage media relations and materials for one of two theatres, maintaining clippings archives and tracking, drafting news and e-mail advisories, pitching story ideas to publication editors, and writing press releases. Editorial responsibilities include collecting program information from dance companies, editing and trafficking copy and layouts for approval, proofreading, and interfacing with the Graphics team and printers. As part of the Marketing team, the Press/Editorial Interns also develop strategy and execute targeted promotions, give public tours, work in the Box Office each week, participate in community outreach efforts, and other administrative duties as assigned.

<br />&nbsp;<br />Candidates should be strong writers with an eye for detail, organized, effective time managers, and have excellent interpersonal skills and marketing instincts. Basic knowledge of the dance field is preferred; Journalism, English, Public Relations, Communications and Marketing majors are encouraged to apply. Candidates must include two writing samples with their application (maximum four pages each); at least one of the two writing samples must be a press release.         <![CDATA[<div>Eleven Production Interns work with the Production Staff, learning&nbsp;</div><div>and gaining experience through <a href="http://www.jacobspillow.org/festival/"><b>Festival</b></a> set-up, company load-ins, and show-operating positions in one of three theatres, including an outdoor stage, and in any of our four studios. During the first three weeks of the internship, Production Interns open and clean the theatres and studios, install the full lighting and sound systems, lay multiple dance floors, and hang repertory soft goods. During company load-ins, general jobs include hanging and focusing lights, laying dance floors, assembling scenery, maintaining wardrobe, and the loading and unloading of trucks alongside the crew of visiting companies. <br />&nbsp;<br />Every show at Jacob's Pillow is operated by the Production Interns, who rotate through backstage positions, such as Light Board Operator, Sound Board Operator, Fly Rail, Props, Wardrobe or Crew Chief. Typical show call duties include running lighting and sound consoles, moving scenery and props, operating rigging systems, and assisting in planning for upcoming performances. Interns are required to attend workshops in all aspects of production instructed by either Jacob's Pillow Staff or visiting company artists and designers. <strong><a href="http://www.jacobspillow.org/education/internships/JacobsPillow_Production_Internship2012.pdf">Click here for full list of qualifications and responsibilities</a></strong>.<br /><br />Candidates must demonstrate a genuine interest in technical theatre or production/stage management. They should be detail-oriented, organized, and efficient at multi-tasking. They must be able to work long hours through frequent interruptions, lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights up to 30 feet, tackle projects both independently and collaboratively, and have excellent customer service skills.         <![CDATA[<div>The Fundraising/VIP Ticket Concierge internship offers an opportunity to gain&nbsp;</div>real work experience in donor relations and stewardship, high end customer and ticket service, and the time management skills needed for any entry level position in the arts field.  This intern works in the Development department and divides work days between the Development Office and the Box Office.  His/her primary responsibility as the VIP Ticket Concierge Intern is to receive and handle high level donors', donor prospects' and VIPs' requests for ticketing, Café reservations, tours and meetings using exemplary customer service. This Intern also assists with data management projects, and helps ensure the flow and accuracy of information between the Development Office and Box Office.<br/><br/>

While in the Development Office, additional responsibilities will include assisting with special events, fundraising mailings, donor gift acknowledgments and member communications. <br/><br/>

While in the Box Office, additional responsibilities include assisting with Box Office sales, and greeting and assisting both VIPs and the General Public at Will Call prior to performances.<br/><br/>

Candidates should be confident interacting with donors and the public in person and via  telephone, detail-oriented, organized, effective time managers and self-motivated. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are a must. This intern will be expected to speak knowledgeably about each of the companies performing on the 2012 Season and make informed and personal recommendations when asked.  Experience in retail or other customer service, and a desire to enter the arts fundraising field are preferred. Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, Access and Internet research are preferred, as is experience with Theatre Manager or other ticketing software.<br/><br/>

        <![CDATA[<div>Jacob's Pillow seeks a Ticket Services/Marketing Intern for winter/spring&nbsp;</div><div>to serve February 1 through April 29, 2012. The Ticket 
Services/Marketing Intern is an integral part of <b><a href="http://www.jacobspillow.org/festival/">Festival</a></b> 2012 roll-out 
by assisting the Ticket Services Manager in managing subscription and 
single ticket orders for the upcoming Festival. The Ticket Services team
 also answers a variety of patron questions about Festival artists and 
the Berkshire region. This Intern assists members of the Marketing Department by engaging in target market research and outreach, social 
media and e-communication projects, copywriting projects and 
proofreading, and other tasks as necessary. A positive, upbeat attitude,
 willingness to learn, and customer service experience are a must. 
Experience with ticketing software and a general knowledge of dance are a
 definite plus. On-site housing and college credit are available.
