        <![CDATA[<div><b>Three Artist Services Interns assist the Operations staff in the day-to-day</b>&nbsp;</div>
<div>management of a multi-venue dance festival and are responsible for a wide variety of logistics associated with artist services, special events, campus management and customer service. Artist Services Interns rotate between three assignments throughout the internship: Inside/Out, Campus Management, and Artist Services. During the Inside/Out rotation, interns will be the point person for all logistics regarding Inside/Out performers for that week - from housing needs to coordinating technical needs with the Production Department. Artist service rotation duties include coordinating artist hospitality, housing and transportation and welcoming our traveling artists, faculty, scholars and students.&nbsp; Campus Management responsibilities include helping the grounds remain clean and presentable, ensuring patron comfort and safety and implementing minor repairs and improvements. In addition, Artist Services interns will assist the implementation of Special Events, from set ups of tables, chairs, and portable sound systems, to operating sound equipment during events. Customer Service tasks include answering general inquiries, assisting disabled patrons, and directing parking. There are also many administrative duties including data entry and maintenance, resource scheduling and tracking and participation in various research projects. In short, the Operations Team works with all departments to make sure all aspects of Festival and campus life run smoothly.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Candidates must demonstrate a genuine interest in company, stage or event management. They should be detail-oriented, organized and efficient at multi-tasking. They must be able to work long hours through frequent interruptions, lift up to 50 pounds, tackle projects both independently and collaboratively and have excellent customer service skills. Secondary language fluency a plus. Duties include order taking, processing and reconciling phone, mail, fax and Internet ticket orders and exchanges. Assist in the Pillow Store and with other department's projects as needed. This internship provides excellent business training for those who plan to run their own arts organizations.</div>

<div>Candidates should possess a basic knowledge of accounting principles, some spreadsheet and accounting software experience, and a personal sense of diplomacy and confidentiality. Duties involving public interaction include leading campus tours and orientation sessions, assisting incoming and outgoing students with program needs, planning group visits, managing Community Dance Classes and Master Classes, and opening and closing campus studios each day.<br /><br />Candidates must have a dance background; an interest in national dance education initiatives; be detail-oriented and efficient at multi-tasking and time management; possess excellent writing, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and be able to work both independently and collaboratively. As part of the Marketing team, the Graphics Design Intern also executes target-marketing promotions, assists with market research and works in the Box Office each week.</div>

<div>Candidates should be well versed in Indesign and CS3 products; experience with HTML coding is a plus. Applicants must be detail-oriented, organized, effective time managers, and possess marketing instincts. Excellent design and interpersonal skills are a must. The Marketing Intern will also become the Pillow's main photography resource and will work closely with the Photojournalism Intern, Festival Photographer, and Graphic Design Coordinator to manage the Pillow's photo database. Photo management responsibilities include uploading, cataloging, and occasional editing of digital photographs and well as general content management to ensure that the Pillow's Festival photography needs are met.&nbsp; The Marketing intern will write and edit copy for marketing materials and assist with managing and uploading website and social media content and photographs.&nbsp; All marketing department interns are required to work at least 10 hours/week in the Box Office.<br /><br />Candidates should be detail-oriented and possess superior organizational, time-management, and writing skills. Marketing campaign and project management experience; familiarity with Adobe design programs, specifically Photoshop and Bridge; and an interest in dance are preferred. The internship offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced professional environment and to understand the marketing and archival uses of photographic images. The intern photographs visiting companies in rehearsal when appropriate, dance classes in The School at Jacob's Pillow, donor events, talks, performances on the outdoor stage, and more. Intern responsibilities also include editing and cataloging all images taken into a digital photo archive and producing prints and photo CDs for Marketing and other departments in a timely manner. The Photojournalism Intern interfaces on a professional level with all departments, the public, and company members. As part of the Marketing team, the Photojournalism Intern also helps to develop strategy and execute target-marketing promotions, assists with research, and works in the Box Office each week.</div>

<div>Candidates should possess a strong background in photography and some background in film photography. Candidates should be comfortable shooting live action in low, in/outdoor, and varying light situations. Additionally, candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, organized, and effective time managers with a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. At least one of the required references or recommendations must be from a photography professor/instructor/professional, and candidates must submit a portfolio of photographic work with their application. As part of the Marketing team, the Press/Editorial Interns also develop strategy and execute targeted promotions, give public tours, and work in the Box Office each week.</div>

        <![CDATA[<div>Eleven Production Interns work with the Production Staff, learning and &nbsp;</div>
<div>gaining experience through Festival set-up, company load-ins, and show-operating positions in one of three theatres, including an outdoor stage, and in any of our three studios. During the first three weeks of the internship, Production Interns open and clean the theatres and studios, install the full lighting and sound systems, lay multiple dance floors, and hang repertory soft goods. During company load-ins, general jobs include hanging and focusing lights, laying dance floors, constructing scenery, maintaining wardrobe, and the loading and unloading of trucks alongside the crew of visiting companies. </div>

<div>Every show at Jacob's Pillow is operated by the Production Interns, who rotate through backstage positions, such as Light Board Operator, Sound Board Operator, Fly Rail, Props, Wardrobe or Assistant Production Coordinator. Typical show call duties include running lighting and sound consoles, moving scenery and props, operating rigging systems, and assisting in planning for upcoming performances. Interns are required to attend workshops in all aspects of production instructed by either Jacob's Pillow Staff or visiting company artists and designers. </div>

Responsibilities also include assisting the Ticket Services Manager to arrange group visits - giving tours, coordinating on-campus dining, and acting as the on-site contact. Duties will also include working in the Box Office each week. Some general administrative assistance in the Operations Department is part of the internship.</div>

<div>Candidates should demonstrate interest in event management, be confident in a public leadership role, detail-oriented, organized, effective time managers, and self-motivated. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are a must. They must be able to tackle projects both independently and collaboratively, and lift up to 50 pounds. Experience in retail customer service and accounting is preferred. Another core duty of the Ticket Services/Development Intern is to assist with projects in data management to maintain the flow and accuracy of information between our two departments. As part of the Development team, responsibilities will also include assisting with special events, fundraising mailings, donor gift acknowledgments and member communications. <br /><br />Candidates should be confident interacting with the public leadership role, detail-oriented, organized, effective time managers and self-motivated. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are a must. Experience in retail or other customer service is preferred.
