Two Fundraising/Individuals Interns work closely with Development staff to raise funds from individual donors. Duties include assisting with stewardship of high level student sponsorship donors, executing logistics for more than 20 special events, communicating with outside vendors and other Pillow staff regarding events, making VIP arrangements, leading historic tours, forwarding membership recruitment and retention, staffing a Member information table, composing member communications, assisting with acknowledgment and fundraising mailings, and helping with other daily functions of a development office including filing, stuffing and daily interaction with our donor database, Patron Manager. The Fundraising/Individuals Interns are also responsible for audience tracking at Inside/Out, the Pillow's free performance series.

Candidates should possess strong interpersonal, verbal and writing skills, and must be flexible, team-oriented, positive, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects concurrently, and discreet in handling sensitive donor-related information. Candidates should possess a professional and confident phone manner. Facility in Word, Excel and Internet research is also important. Candidates have the option of including up to two non-academic writing samples, maximum two pages in length each, with their application. Examples of appropriate submissions include a thank-you letter, an office memo or formal email correspondence.
