The Fundraising/Grants Intern works closely with Development staff to
successfully seek and report on funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that support the arts. The intern will work with all departments to address the financial goals of the organization, including artistic, educational, programmatic, operational, endowment, and capital needs. Office responsibilities include prospect research, proposal and report writing, acknowledging and stewarding gifts, creating sponsorship proposals, constituent management using Raiser's Edge database software, and participating in department strategy and planning meetings. Outside the office, the intern will help host Inside/Out, assist with special events and member recruitment, coordinate Audience Tracking at free events, and as feasible, will attend and report on free talks, master classes, and other on-going parts of the Festival. Candidates should possess strong writing and analytical skills, an interest in arts advocacy, strong interpersonal skills, and general office administration skills.
Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects with firm deadlines, team-oriented and discreet in relation to VIPs and confidential information. Word, Excel and computer research skills required. Candidates must include two writing samples with their application.
