Andy Gale has appeared on Broadway in Rags, starring Teresa Stratas and  
Larry Kert (original cast album); Side Show (original cast album); Jane Eyre; and The World of Sholem Aleichem, starring Jack Gilford. He was also an original cast member of the first national tour of Les Miserables; played the Fakir in the international tour of The Secret Garden; and was Gus /Growltiger in the national tour of CATS. In addition to appearances off and off-off Broadway, Gale has also worked in stock and regional theater.

As a director, Gale staged the Australian premiere of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, as well as productions of the show in Allentown, PA and Bethesda, MD. He also directed Audra McDonald with The Boston Pops for PBS; They're Playing Our Song for Regent Cruise Line; and the world premiere of Transatlantic.

Gale is a highly sought after teacher and acting coach in the Broadway community and has taught master classes across the United States and in Australia. As an adjunct professor, he has taught at Vassar College and Barnard, and has been a frequent guest teacher at The Manhattan School of Music. In 2009 and 2011, Gale directed a musical theater revue for Chautauqua Opera and recently spent a week as a master teacher at the Buck Hill Skytop Music Festival. As a vocal soloist, Gale has appeared with the Joffrey Ballet's Drum, Dreams and Banjos, and in a salute to Pushkin at Carnegie Hall. A graduate of Antioch College, Gale was also, for two years, the art and film critic for the Sacramento Bee.
