Jacob's Pillow Dance

round presenter dedicated to American tap and contemporary rhythmic expression. His directing, performing and teaching careers span four decades and includes: Morton Gould's Tap Dance Concerto at Carnegie Hall with Skitch Henderson's New York Pops and at the Royal Festival Hall with the London Philharmonic; touring as a principal with the National Tap Dance Company of Canada; choreographing for the television series The Untouchables; and, co-directing the Emmy nominated PBS-ITVS documentary, JUBA!. Lane served on Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel's Arts and Culture transition team, currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Beijing Contemporary Music Academy, and on the boards of the Arts and Business Council of Chicago and the International Tap Association. He appeared with such greats as Donald O'Connor, Gregory Hines, Jimmy Slyde, and Bill Irwin and has served on the faculties of the Lou Conte Dance Studio, Northwestern University, the Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Center, and Columbia College.
