Freelance bassist Saadi Zain attended the Hartt School of Music where he
studied with Jackie McLean. He then attended The City College of New York where he was a student of Ron Carter, a relationship he continues today both as a student and as a colleague; performing with the Ron Carter Nonet for a week engagement at New York's Blue Note Jazz Club. He currently performs with jazz artists for Broadway shows and with classical orchestras and ensembles. Amongst the many artists he has played with are Jessye Norman, Sheila Jordan, Joshua Bell, Roy Meriwether, Ronny Jordan, George Coleman, Muhal Richard Abrams, and The Mingus Orchestra. In addition to performing in New York and throughout the U.S., Zain has played in Italy, France, Spain, Austria, Poland, China, Taiwan, and Malaysia. Zain has performed in noted venues such as the Olympia Theatere in Paris, the Blue Note in Milan, and the Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg.
