Joshua Bergasse is a New York City based choreographer whose work on the NBC series Smash, produced by Steven Spielberg, earned him the 2012 Emmy Award for "Outstanding Choreography". Bergasse's other recent credits include the film Grown Ups 2, FOX's So You Think You Can Dance, commercials for Ford and Lord & Taylor, and guest choreography for the Knicks City Dancers at Madison Square Garden. For the theater, he has choreographed for many productions across the United States, such as the upcoming Superman (Encores at City Center), Fame The Musical (National & International Tours), American Songbooks: Fascinating Rhythm (Allen Room, Jazz at Lincoln Center), and Bomb-itty Of Errors (Off-Broadway). Bergasse has performed on Broadway and national tours for shows including Movin' Out, Hairspray, The Life, and West Side Story. As a teacher, Bergasse is Artistic Director of the Musical Theater Performance Project at Broadway Dance Center and has been on the school's faculty since 1998, as well as being a guest artist at a number of universities including New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and Marymount Manhattan College.
