Jacob's Pillow Dance

dubbed "The Ella Fitzgerald of tap dance." She performed in the original Black and Blue production in Paris as well as its Tony Award-winning production on Broadway. As a soloist, she performs in clubs, jazz festivals, and tap festivals across the U.S. and abroad. Her film credits include the movie Tap, the PBS special Great Performances: Tap Dance in America, JUBA!, and Songs Unwritten. She has received the Living Treasure in American Dance Award from Oklahoma City University, the Flo-Bert Award, The Hoofers Award, The Gregory Hines Humanitarian Award, and was the 2008 USA Rose Fellow. She holds a Master's degree in Education, has taught at numerous universities, is a participant on many educational task forces, and sits on various boards throughout the dance community. She is currently Artistic Director of Boston's TapDancin' Inc. and collaborates with schools in Minneapolis and Tokyo.
