2012 Faculty
Derick K. Grant has worked as performer, choreographer, and director for over three decades. Under the direction of two time Tony Award winning director George C. Wolfe, he was an original company member and Dance Captain for Bring In 'Da Noise, Bring In 'Da Funk as well as the show's lead on its national tour. One of his first honors, the Princess Grace Award for Upcoming Young Artist, was followed by The Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Featured Actor, two Los Angeles Ovation Awards for choreography and ensemble performance, and a best choreography award for his critically acclaimed Imagine Tap! Most recently, he was appointed Co-Artistic Director of Chicago Human Rhythm Project's Rhythm World Summer Festival. In an effort to celebrate, nurture, and cultivate the future of the art form, Mr. Grant continues to teach worldwide, including at Steps On Broadway in New York.
