KT Niehoff was a 2010 artist-in-residence with Seattle's ACT Theatre, a 2006
Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography Fellow and Seattle Magazine's 2007 Dance Artist of the Year. She co-founded/directed Velocity Dance Center in Seattle from 1996-2006. In 1998, Niehoff founded her company Lingo which has since been the container for all her work - events, dances, music, films, classes, and messes. Lingo has been presented at places like ACT Theatre, On the Boards Joyce SoHo, and Sushi Contemporary Performance and Visual Arts. Her work has been supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Dance Project, and National Performance Network. In the last 15 years, Niehoff has taught at Oberlin College, Cornish College of the Arts, Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and The School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam.
