Jacob's Pillow Dance

Russ Nyberg is a freelance drummer/percussionist based in New York City. He has performed in over 30 local musical theater productions in the Seattle and New York metropolitan areas. He has also toured the U.S., Canada and internationally with Chicago The Musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Peter Pan. He has performed with Allen Vizzutti, Maynard Ferguson, Nipsey Russell, Jerry Springer, Tom Wopat, Kevin Richardson, The Wailers, Rich Little, among others. He has also worked as a first-call production show drummer for Carnival Cruise Lines. His concert performances include The Federal Way Symphony Orchestra, Cascade Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Philharmonic, Greenwood Concert Band and The One World Symphony Orchestra. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music Degrees from the University of Washington and his teachers have included Tom Collier, Michael Crusoe and Ronald Johnson. Nyberg proudly endorses Aquarian Drumheads and Innovative Percussion drum sticks and mallets.
