Dance Theatre of Harlem has helped shape American dance for 40 years. Now under the direction of former Dance Theatre of Harlem star Virginia Johnson, a gifted next generation carries on the company's signature style of contemporary ballet. This engagement includes New Bach by Robert Garland, set to Bach's Violin Concerto in A Minor; Episode by Peter Pucci; and Fete Noir set to music by Shostakovich and South African Suite by iconic founder Arthur Mitchell, set to a jazz and afro-inspired score by the Soweto String Quartet.
