Kyle Abrahamis a performer called "equal parts power and grace" by Dance Magazine, which listed him among its elite "25 to Watch" in 2009. Abraham's diverse training in classical music, visual art, and dance forms from ballet to hip-hop give range and depth to his sleek, evocative work. Hailed as "the best and brightest creative talent to emerge in New York City in the age of Obama" by Out Magazine, Abraham's works probe the complex relationships between identity and personal history.

His company performs The Radio Show, which highlights the function of radio in urban history, culture, and community through pop music from the 1960s, 70s and today, including Alva Noto, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Aretha Franklin, The Fugees, The Velvelettes, Antony & The Johnsons, J.S Bach, Eiffel 65, Lady Gaga, Eddie Murphy, Amber Lee Parker, Jay Sean, and Slick Rick, just to name a few. Also on the program are Inventing Pookie Jenkins,a solo danced by Abraham that juxtaposes the masculine and feminine, and Op.1, a world premiere co-commissioned by Jacob's Pillow, created in part during a Creative Development Residency program and inspired by the photography of Eadweard Muybridge.

"Much of his success in using varied styles of movement derives from his ability to make them mesh and flow almost undetectably.." Steve Sucato, Pittsburgh City Paper

"A recent solo from Kyle Abraham at the DanceNow festival showed an intriguing mix of breaking and Chaplinesque pathos -- an indication of the way he is able to use hip-hop dance techniques in flexible, unlikely ways." Roslyn Sulcas, The New York Times
