Trey McIntyre's appealingly athletic brand of contemporary ballet has made him one of the most popular dancemakers in the U.S. and a Pillow audience favorite, having debuted his full-time company, Trey McIntyre Project, at the Pillow in 2008. These Pillow performances mark the company's only East Coast engagement this year.
His exceptional, versatile dancers perform (serious) to a score by composer Henry Cowell and Wild Sweet Love, about a woman's search for affection, set to a wonderfully varied musical backdrop including Queen, Lou Reed, Roberta Flack, The Partridge Family, Felix Mendelssohn, and The Zombies.Also on the program is the East Coast premiere of Arrantza a work celebrating the music and movement of the Basque culture; click here to see a behind-the-scenes video by McIntyre.
