Sleek elegance and exquisite technical precision open the Festival. The Hong Kong Ballet performs Polish choreographer Krzysztof Pastor's In Light and Shadow, set to Johann Sebastian Bach's rich and celebratory "Goldberg Variations" and "Orchestral Suite in D Major No. 3." The program also includes Nacho Duato's commanding all-male work Castrati, which explores themes of masculinity and sacrifice, and a poetic trio A Room of Her Own by National Ballet of China resident choreographer Fei Bo.
