Community Programming at the Pillow
For 81 years, Jacob's Pillow has been committed to bringing top-notch international dance to the Berkshires. Festival programming always includes an array of free Inside/Out performances; the free PillowTalks series with renowned dance scholars, artists, and directors; free access to exhibits; community dance programs, including the popular Families Dance Together classes; and opportunities to observe students in The School at Jacob's Pillow.
For select performances, the Pillow offers $10 Youth tickets (17 and younger, accompanied by an adult).This summer, those performances include the Friday evening and Saturday matinee engagements of Dance Theatre of Harlem; Friday evening, Saturday matinee, and Sunday matinee of Compagnie Käfig; Saturday and Sunday matinee performances by Shantala Shivalingappa; and Friday evening and Saturday matinee of Companhia Urbana de Dança. Movin' and Groovin' Kids Corner
August 10, 3:30pm
Families are invited to experiment with movement and percussion in the Tea Garden--bucket drums provided! A fun dance and drum session will be followed by a special kid-friendly tour at 4:30pm.

Stay after the 2pm show for a chance to meet members of Dance Theatre of Harlem, an iconic American ballet company.
Free Community Dance Classes
Sunday, June 23, 10am-noon, Doris Duke Theatre.
Join us for a free "movement sampler" morning for all levels and all ages! Classes will include Zumba with Rachael Plaine from 10-10:35, hip-hop dance with Jamal Ahamad and Becky Clemons from 10:45-11:15, and African dance and drumming with Marilyn Sylla from 11:25-noon. These classes are free and open to the public. Wear comfortable clothing and dance in bare feet, dance shoes, or clean sneakers!

Patrons are invited to quietly observe while members of Dance Theatre of Harlem prepare for their 2pm performance.
Kafig + LEO Kids Corner
Weekend of June 29 and 30
Following the matinee performances by international hip-hop troupe Compagnie Käfig and gravity-defying show LEO, families are invited to visit the Kids Corner and try out some of the moves they've just seen--spotters provided!
July 4th Kids Corner

Before catching the free Inside/Out performance by Sayat Nova Dance Company or an evening show by Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet or Shantala Shivalingappa, stop by the Kids Corner for a variety of dance games and activities in celebration of the fourth of July!
Friday July 12th
Sponsored by the Highland Street Foundation, Free Fun Friday at the Pillow features a number of free events. The Kids Corner kicks off with dance games and activities starting at 4pm. Elizabeth Kendall's 5pm PillowTalk on the mysterious early life of choreographer George Balanchine will delight dance history buffs.Take a kid-friendly guided tour of the historic grounds at 5:00, and enjoy beautiful costumes and movement at the Inside/Out performance by award-winning Bharatanatyam performer Ramya Ramnarayan at 6:15.
Saturday July 13
The Jacob's Pillow Dance Fun Patch immerses local Girl Scouts in the exciting world and history of dance. Patch activities range from educational tours to attending performances by esteemed international dance companies. By earning this Fun Patch, Girl Scouts will be able to apply the activity in a fun and multidisciplinary approach to the Journey programs.
