Jacob's
Pillow presents an exclusive theatrical version of filmmaker and
photographer David Michalek's Slow Dancing, demonstrating
the beauty of dance, dancers, and the body in motion. The dancers'
short movement phrases are captured at 1,000 frames per second in
hyper-slow-motion video portraits and contrasted with live performances
of the portraits, in real time. Jill Johnson of The Forsythe Company
(William Forsythe, artistic director), and classical Indian dancer
Shantala Shivalingappa are among the
artists who appear live and on screen. The program includes lively
commentary with David Michalek and the artists on stage. $29
per adult ticket. Slow
