Application
Guidelines
The
steps below must be followed in order to complete your application.
I.
Audition
Although all programs require auditions, the type of audition
varies for each program.

Guidelines, which includes
instructions for both
DVD/video auditions and in-person auditions. See also the list
of Where
To Audition in person.
II. Written Application
Only one application is required, even if applying to more than
one program. Forms and attachments must be completed and
legible for consideration.
1. Program
Application Form Please
note that the application fee is determined by postmark date.
2. Written Statement of Goals/Aspirations
(2 copies, typed, 1 page maximum, title the page with your name)
Describe (a) current course of work or study; (b) career aspirations;
and (c) experiences you believe will further your ability to reach
these goals.
3. Resume/CV (2 copies, typed)
Include (a) Training History—form(s),teacher(s), length of study;
(b) Performing
Experience—company, choreographer, roles; (c) Choreographic Experience—where
presented, dates; (d) Schools/Colleges—dates of degrees, diplomas
earned or
pending; (e) Dance Honors/Awards; and (f) Two Reference Names—title
and contact
information for dance artists or teachers who can speak about
your work.
4. Photograph/Headshot (label each
copy with your name)
Please enclose the following if you are applying to:
Ballet: Full-length first arabesque photo. (1 copy)
Cultural Traditions: Full body photo preferred; headshot accepted.
(1 copy)
Contemporary Traditions: Full body photo preferred; headshot accepted.
(1 copy)
Jazz/Musical Theatre Dance: Headshot. (2 copies)
5. Support Documentation (copies,
vs originals, are acceptable)
Professional dancers: Selected programs, reviews, and articles
about your work.
Pre-professional dancers: Copies of any certificates, dance honors
or awards, if applicable. Under age 18: One recommendation
letter from a current teacher that: (a) identifies your name and
program preferences; and (b) describes (i) technical and performance
artistry; (ii) stamina to participate in rigorous, professional-level
classes and rehearsals; and (iii) ability to live away from home
and interact responsibly in a diverse, professional artist community.
III.
Application Postmark Deadline: Monday, March 24, 2008
March 24, 2008 for acceptance consideration.
After March 25 for acceptance
consideration if places are available; otherwise, reviewed for
Wait List consideration. All
applicants receive written notice of admissions status once review
process concludes.
