For: 22 professional-level and

advanced ballet dancers, age 15 and up, seeking professional development.

Anna-Marie Holmes and a

distinguished artist faculty will

coach dancers through studio and performance experiences to

sharpen performance confidence

and artistry.  The focus of the

first program week will be

participation in the creation of a

new work  by Stephen Mills and

its premiere at the Season

Opening Gala on June 14.

During the second week, faculty

will prepare dancers to perform

renowned classical works by

including the musicality, style characteristics, and pas de deux

techniques specific to each work.  Dancers will perform the works for a free public presentation on June 21.  Each week includes separate men's and women's classes in addition to music, performance analysis, and career-building seminars.  Attendance at Festival events, including performances, talks, exhibits, and master classes, will be an integral part of the program.

Past program participants havebeen primarily apprentices and pre-professionals hailing from

companies and schools, such as

Atlanta Ballet, Estudio Julio Bocca Argentina, Het Nationale Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, New Zealand School of Dance, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, and Royal Swedish Ballet School.
