Credit
Recognized for physical and intellectual rigor, Jacob’s Pillow
programs can be taken for academic credit through the Pillow’s
affiliation with the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Credit
fee information will be available May 28 and registration occurs
at Jacob’s Pillow on arrival day. Registering at the Pillow does
not guarantee that credits are transferable. Please consult your
registrar’s office and department head regarding
credit options.
Eligibility
All programs require socially mature and technically advanced
dancers with the stamina to dance intensively six days per week,
six hours per day and participate in four hours of Festival events
per evening. Minimum age on arrival day is 15 for Ballet
Program; 16 for Cultural, Contemporary, and Jazz/Musical Theatre
Dance programs; and 24 for the Choreographers Lab. Upon acceptance,
participants must complete a confidential medical history and
notify the Director of Education regarding any conditions that
may interfere with full program participation. Jacob’s Pillow
encourages and supports diversity in all its programs.
Fees
The Fund for Jacob’s Pillow and annual contributions from supporters
of The School make it possible for dancers to pay less than half
of the $5,000 per student cost. Among the most competitive in
the field, The School’s program fees include tuition, room, board,
and attendance to ticketed Festival performances. They are
as follows:
$1,200 Ballet, Cultural Traditions, and Choreographers Lab
$1,800 Contemporary Traditions and Jazz/Musical Theatre Dance
