The event begins with a rare and extraordinary opportunity to observe David Hallberg--widely considered to be one of the greatest ballet dancers of our time--in private rehearsal at American Ballet Theatre studios in New York. Ella Baff, expert docent for the evening, will introduce you to Mr. Hallberg after the rehearsal, then escort the party to restaurateur, Danny Meyer's newest dining sensation, North End Grill. There, you and your guests will be seated with Ella in a choice, semi-private nook to feast on an inspired blend of ocean and farm-to-table fare, created by chef Floyd Cardoz, winner of Top Chef Masters 2011. Enjoy this five-course tasting menu with wines selected by Danny, and discuss the rehearsal--and all things dance--with Ella Baff. To top it off, you will also be treated to a tasting of the North End Grill's venerated collection of single-malt scotches.

The Inside/Out performance series has become a hallmark of the Jacob's Pillow Season. Set on the unique and beautiful Henry J. Leir Stage overlooking the glorious Berkshire hills, Inside/Out presents 40 extraordinary dance performances annually to over 17,000 people--toddlers to elders--absolutely free.

However, free dance is not free to produce. Your sponsorship gift will make all the difference in bringing this treasured performance series to life.

Inside/Out is a win-win for the community and for the dance field. Thousands of people from all walks of life flock to see a wide range of performances each year. Children and teens often experience dance for the very first time, others of all ages visit to deepen their appreciation for dance. For dancers, choreographers, and students, Inside/Out is a crucial stepping stone in their career, offering a coveted opportunity to perform at the Pillow, and build an audience amongst one of the most loyal community of dance fans in the country.

Scholarships for Students
Your Gift to Transform the Life of a Young Artist

The Pillow selects 100 talented young people annually, amongst thousands who audition, to study at one of four programs at The School at Jacob's Pillow: Ballet, Cultural Traditions, Contemporary, and Jazz/Musical Theatre Dance.

More than 80% of students accepted to The School cannot attend without significant financial support. Your gift will make it possible for one young dancer to fulfill their dream of studying at one of the most prestigious and sought-after professional advancement dance centers in the world.

A gift of $5,000 underwrites one student's training experience: classes with master teachers--the finest dancers, choreographers, musicians, teachers and mentors; access to the Pillow's extensive Archives; tickets to Festival performances; and room & board at the nation's only National Historic Landmark for Dance.

As a full scholarship supporter, you will be matched with a student from this year's School, and have opportunities to meet over lunch, watch your student in class, and attend performances featuring student dancers.

Past scholarship supporters report that meeting their student at the Pillow is just the beginning. The real thrill is watching your student join his first company, land her first Broadway show, or set out on a world tour--and knowing that you played a part.

Danny Meyer has become a true legend of the New York restaurant scene. In this package, you and 11 friends will be treated to a private tasting of exquisite wines and delectable hors d'oeuvres.

You choose the setting: either the New York or Berkshires home of Pillow Board President, Mark Leavitt -both are filled with a remarkable collection of folk-art by Bill Traylor, Henry Darger, Thornton Dial, and many others.
