Under the direction of contemporary dance mentor and master teacher Milton Myers, daily studio work and weekly performance experiences prepare dancers to meet the expectations and requirements of today’s most in-demand artistic directors. Dancers will work with choreographers Ronald K. Brown, Cayetano Soto, and Didy Veldman to deepen their ability to communicate stylistically diverse choreographic intent and become articulate, versatile artists. Dancers will present the works in progress created on them on the iconic outdoor Inside/Out stage for Festival audiences on July 14, 21, and 28.
A faculty of distinguished artists provide individual coaching in multiple movement vocabularies, styles, techniques, and performance skills through daily classes in ballet and contemporary dance. Integral to this immersive dance experience are interactions with Festival artists through Master Classes and career-building discussions. Dancers live onsite and attend Festival performances held on three stages, public talks led by artists and scholars, view exhibits, and research dance interests and assignments in the Jacob’s Pillow Archives.
Milton Myers is resident choreographer and instructor for Philadanco and on the faculties of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the Ailey/Fordham B.F.A. Program, Peridance, STEPS on Broadway, and The Juilliard School, where he is the first Horton instructor.Learn More
