This event took place on July 25, 2021.
Open to all levels, ages 16+. No prior movement experience is required.
Entering into a shared space together for the first time in so long, Brian Brooks invites participants to join him in a game of energetic movement exploration. Brian will lead a workshop focused on developing observation and response skills, attentiveness, and awareness as a community. He will share a movement phrase for participants to embody. Then, using Brian’s techniques and strategies as a model, participants will be invited to make choices about their own gestures and pathways in response to others in the room.
Please wear comfortable clothes for movement. Closed toe shoes, such as sneakers, will be worn during class. Please bring a pair of clean-soled indoor sneakers to change upon entering the Great Lawn Tent.
Please scroll down for event dates and times, or visit our Calendar for all upcoming events.
*Traditionally, community classes accommodated day-of purchases after a pre-registration process. This summer, due to contact tracing and COVID-19 health guidelines compliance, we are asking participants for completed registration and payment prior to the day of class. Payment with a credit card is encouraged online. If you require further assistance or have questions, please contact the Box Office.
Masks must be worn in The Great Lawn Tent regardless of vaccination status.
All participants will be asked to electronically sign a liability waiver upon registration; participants younger than 18 require parent/guardian agreement.
Observation and walk-ups are not encouraged due to safety concerns.
If a class is unavailable, we encourage you to continue checking our website for released tickets and call the Community Engagement department at 413.243.9919 x166. If you purchase a ticket and cannot attend class, please contact the Box Office as soon as possible to receive a full refund and allow for spots to be released.
