Doug Hinrichs is a percussionist and composer who performs and records primarily in New York City. He is best-known for his work on the musical, In The Heights, which he played drums and percussion during the show’s development, and held the Percussion Chair for the full run on Broadway. As a specialist in ethnic percussion, Doug plays drum set, steel pan, mallet and orchestra percussion. He also invented the One-Handed Triangle, which is manufactured and sold worldwide by Latin Percussion. Hinrichs’ credits as a composer include placements on the USA, CBS, and ABC television networks. Companies and products that have used his percussion tracks in commercials include ESPN, Miller Lite Beer, New York Knicks, and POWERADE.
