Edgar Godineaux, is a Director/Choreographer with a unique and highly stylized choreography, which is represented throughout the entertainment industry. He trained and worked alongside Michael Peters, Lester Wilson, Debbie Allen, and Hinton Battle. A proud graduate of LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, his projects currently in development include Lights Out: Nat “King” Cole (Barrymore Award for Outstanding Choreography/Movement) starring Dule Hill and Daniel J. Watts at the Geffen Playhouse and People’s Light Theatre Philadelphia (Director/Co-Author Patricia McGregor and Co-Author Colman Domingo). Choreography for Director Sheldon Epps and Producer B. Jeffrey Madoff of the workshop for Personality, the Lloyd Price musical. Edgar has a long-standing collaborative relationship with Sergio Trujillo and is the Associate Choreographer for the Broadway musical Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations, (Tony Award for Best Choreography), Memphis, the Musical (Tony Award for Best Musical and Olivier Award for Best Choreography), Leap of Faith, and Flashdance, the Musical. As a dance performer, Edgar has enjoyed the opportunity to travel all over the world touring with artists such as Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Karyn White, and Diana Ross. He has performed on Dancing With The Stars (Michael Jackson Tribute featuring Omarion), Sunday Night at the Palladium (U.K.), The Oscars, American Music Awards with En Vogue, Grammy Awards, MTV Awards, Emmy Awards, and Motown 30th Anniversary (Associate Choreographer to Debbie Allen). Selected Broadway performance credits include: Aida, Swing!, The Pajama Game, Dance of the Vampires, and Merrily We Roll Along (The Kennedy Center Honors). Select TV and film credits as a performer include Law & Order (CI and SVU), Glee, How I Met Your Mother, So You Think You Can Dance Canada (Choreographer), Chicago the movie, Jersey Boys the movie (Associate Choreographer), and The Five Heartbeats (Associate Choreographer to the Legendary Michael Peters). He was also the Associate Choreographer to Hinton Battle for Idlewild (featuring Outkast), Boldin, and The Great Observer. Choreographer for Comedy Central Pilot Awkwafina, Nona Gaye videos/Tour BET Entertainment, Dancing with the Stars with Jason Taylor and Edyta, and the Color Me Badd Tour. Godineaux also received a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s nomination for Best Director/Choreography for Larger Theatre in Los Angeles, CA for Memphis the Musical.
