His works have been performed by Ailey II Dance Company, Alberta Ballet Company, Bat-Dor Dance Company, Batsheva Dance Company, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet; and at festivals such as Florence Dance Festival, Invito Alla Danza, and Karmiel Dance Festival. From 1981-1982, Perry headed the ballet department at Jacob’s Pillow. A year later, he launched Peridance Capezio Center, now one of New York City’s leading dance institutions. In 1984, he founded Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, for which he has choreographed over 50 works, with performances at BAM, The Joyce Theater, and City Center. Perry’s elegant choreography, often created as collaborative works with contemporary composers, has been described as “blessedly inventive” by Jennifer Dunning of The New York Times.
