Marguerite Donlon, an Irish-born performer based in Berlin, is an innovative contemporary choreographer who is critically acclaimed worldwide. From 2001-2013, Donlon was the ballet director and house choreographer of the Saarland State Theater; otherwise known as the “Donlon Dance Company”. Besides her work for the company in Saarbrücken, Marguerite has created choreographies for other dance companies worldwide, including Berlin Ballet, Companhia Nacional Bailado Portugal, Garthner Platz Ballet Munich, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Nederlands Dans Theater 2, Rambert Dance in London, Stuttgart Ballet, and most recently Svetlana Zacharova, and the Bolshoi Ballet. Marguerite has worked with dance legends Natalia Makarova, Rudolf Nureyev, and Sir Kenneth MacMillan, but found her place working with and dancing the repertoire of influential contemporary choreographers including Maurice Béjart, William Forsythe, Bill T. Jones, Jiří Kylián, and Meg Stuart. Donlon is also founder, curator, and Artistic Director of the International Dance Festival n.o.w. dance saar. Her educational activities include founding the youth project iMove and guest teaching at academies and universities.
