Michael Scales is the Music Director and Pianist for New York Theatre Ballet. He regularly plays for esteemed dance institutions including Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, The Juilliard School, New York City Ballet, School of American Ballet, and Steps on Broadway. He has also been involved in the development and performance of multiple world premieres by renowned choreographers. Dance artists he has worked with include Richard Alston, Gemma Bond, Antonia Franceschi, and Pam Tanowitz. Scales received his Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and his Master of Music in Piano Performance from James Madison University.
