Paul Dennis is a former member of the Limón Dance Company and is currently Associate Professor in the Dance program at the University of Massachusetts and The Five College Dance Department. His career includes performances in the 1991 Jacob’s Pillow program Men Dancers: The Ted Shawn Legacy, a 1995 performance at the White House, and an internationally touring concert of modern and contemporary solo repertory. His current research blends his studies in Laban Movement Analysis and dance with neuroscience to design movement protocols that aim to support Huntington’s disease patients. He has been in residence with Dance International and an adjudicator for Certamen Internacional de Coreografía in Burgos, Spain. Dennis is guest artist/faculty at Mount Holyoke College, Amherst College, Hampshire College, the Civitanova Danza festival in Italy, and the International Dance Association in Ravenna, Italy. Dennis is the régisseur of masterpieces by Ted Shawn, José Limón, Pearl Primus, Ted Hershey, and Doris Humphrey for numerous companies including Scuola di Ballo Accademia Teatro alla Scala, Limón Dance Company, and the Teatro Dell’Opera Di Roma Ballet.
