Join artists Reggie Wilson and Michel Kouakou of Reggie Wilson/Fist and Heel Performance Group for this welcoming workshop. Community Shouts are joyful, participatory sing-alongs that invite people to connect with their rhythmic voices, bodies, and one another. Through songs, rhythms, and storytelling from Africa and the African Diaspora — including the Caribbean and the American South — participants explore shared traditions and cultural connections. No prior experience is needed, and everyone is encouraged to participate at their own comfort level.

Reggie Wilson/Fist and Heel Performance Group creates dance and multi-disciplinary performance work, which often articulates the intricate relationship individuals and communities have to ritual, their bodies and their cultures. Workshops offered by the Company are a reflection of its performance articulation and these concerns.

This free community workshop is open to all abilities; comfortable clothing is recommended. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged online or by calling 413.243.9919 x166. Tickets are available at the door, pending availability.
