Jacob's Pillow welcomes 11-time Bessie Award-winning Doug Varone and Dancers to present a program in celebration of the renowned company’s 40th anniversary. About Doug Varone and Dancers

Founded by acclaimed choreographer Doug Varone, New York City-based Doug Varone and Dancers celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026. For four decades, the company has earned international recognition for its deeply human work, performing in more than 125 cities across the United States and in Europe, Asia, Canada, and South America. Doug Varone and Dancers has been presented by leading venues including Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Venice Biennale, and Tokyo’s Marble Hall.

Beyond the concert stage, the company has collaborated on numerous opera and theater productions directed and choreographed by Varone. Varone, his dancers, and designers have collectively received 11 Bessie Awards, and the company is widely recognized as a leader in dance education and mentorship, engaging students and emerging artists from around the world.

Visit the Doris Duke Theatre Bar to enjoy a beverage and light snack before or after your performance. Take your drink for a stroll around campus and soak in the crisp fall air and beautiful Berkshire scenery. During the Fall Season, the nearby Pillow Pub and Pillow Café are closed.

Jacob's Pillow is located in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts in the town of Becket. The 225-acre National Historic Landmark is within easy driving distance of Boston, New York, Albany, Burlington, and Hartford.

FAQ FOR FALL EVENTS

Will the Pillow Store be open?

While the full Pillow Store will not be open during our fall performances, a small pop-up Pillow Shop will be available in the theater lobby before each performance. Browse a selection of Jacob’s Pillow merchandise and take home a memento to remember your visit.

Where do I find my tickets?

When purchasing tickets, you can choose either Will Call or Digital Ticket Delivery. If you selected Will Call, your printed tickets will be available for pickup at the Box Office window of the Doris Duke Theatre on the day of your performance. Digital tickets are delivered through Jacob’s Pillow’s secure True Tickets system, allowing you to access, share, and scan your tickets directly from your phone.
