Youth America Grand Prix: Fresh Voices in Ballet
Fresh Voices in Dance showcases the next generation of choreographic talent emerging from the ballet world. Following a global search, Youth America Grand Prix selected six inaugural fellowship recipients to create original works that will receive their world premieres at Jacob's Pillow: Ashley Davis, William Dugan, Manoela Gonçalves, Gabriel Lorena, Abdiel Figueroa Reyes, and Pillow Alum My'Kal Stromile. The program marks the first-ever public presentation of work developed through Youth America Grand Prix’s groundbreaking new choreographic fellowship initiative.
About Youth America Grand Prix
Founded in 1999, Youth America Grand Prix is the world's largest ballet scholarship organization and a leading force in identifying and nurturing emerging dance talent. Over the course of its history, the organization has helped launch the careers of countless artists who have gone on to shape the field, including acclaimed choreographers and performers such as Alexei Ratmansky, Christopher Wheeldon, and Tiler Peck.
Building on its longstanding commitment to artistic development, Youth America Grand Prix established the Marcella Hymowitz Creative Fellowship for Choreography to support the next generation of dance makers emerging from the ballet world. Made possible through a generous gift from Gregg Hymowitz, the fellowship provides rising choreographers with a dedicated creative laboratory to develop innovative new work. Fresh Voices in Dance presented at Jacob’s Pillow will mark the first public presentation of works created through this initiative.
