FUTURE FIGURES: Dance and Emerging Technologies
Emerging technologies rewrite what dance can be: how it's made, how it's taught, how it travels, who gets to participate. FUTURE FIGURES: Dance and Emerging Technologies gathers choreographers, technologists, and audiences for a day of pointed conversations, live performance/demonstrations, and talks from some of the most interesting artists working at the seam of dance and technology. The through-line: what happens when dancers stop reacting to new tools and start building them.
FUTURE FIGURES is presented in partnership with Onassis ONX.

Skybetter argues that the future of dance is being authored right now, in laboratories, aerospace contracts, and AI training sets, and that choreographers have a historical claim to that work. Following the keynote, Skybetter facilitates a series of discussions with preeminent choreographers and stakeholders working at the intersection of dance and technology.
