PillowTalk: Akram Khan Company
Joined by some of Khan’s collaborators and company members, this PillowTalk celebrates the company’s legacy on its last U.S. tour. Inspired by Akram Khan’s early training in the Indian classical dance form kathak, and the hybrid language that organically emerged when Khan’s kathak training encountered contemporary dance in his teens, a vision began to form leading to the establishment of one of the world’s most innovative dance companies.
Through the voices of Khan’s collaborators, this Pillowtalk considers Khan’s artistic influences and the lasting impact the company has left on the dance world during the week of their performance of Thikra: Night of Remembering at the Pillow.
