The Business Intern receives broad exposure to the financial aspects of a non-profit organization. The Intern will be shown many processes and procedures, however, their main focus will be in the area of Accounts Payable. They will learn the importance of proper coding; adherence to strict deadlines; the need to pay attention to details; and the need to interact with different departments. There will be opportunities to learn other tasks within the Finance Department as well.

The Intern's hours in the Business Office will be primarily 9:00 to 5:00 Tuesday through Saturday and 9:00 to 2:00 on Sunday. The Business Intern will also assist in the Box Office three evenings per week performing various duties including order taking, processing and reconciling phone, mail, fax, and Internet ticket orders and exchanges; and assist the Development Department one evening per week at the Inside/Out Stage Area. Other duties include patron assistance (such as driving a golf cart to assist patrons from the parking lot to the theaters) and giving public tours of the Pillow's historic grounds to visitors and groups.

Candidates should possess basic knowledge of accounting principles, some spreadsheet and accounting software experience, and a personal sense of diplomacy and confidentiality. A keen eye to detail, strong interpersonal skills, a sense of humor and experience in customer service are necessary.
