Two Press/Editorial Interns assist with all aspects of securing, tracking, and archiving media coverage of Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival while managing the editing and production of weekly, printed performance programs. Press responsibilities include helping to manage media relations and materials for one of two theatres, maintaining clippings archives and tracking, drafting news and e-mail advisories, pitching story ideas to publication editors, and writing press releases. Editorial responsibilities include collecting program information from dance companies, editing and trafficking copy and layouts for approval, proofreading, and interfacing with the Graphics team and printers. As part of the Marketing team, the Press/Editorial Interns also develop strategy and execute targeted promotions, give public tours, work in the Box Office each week, participate in community outreach efforts, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Candidates should be strong writers with an eye for detail, organized, effective time managers, and have excellent interpersonal skills and marketing instincts. Basic knowledge of the dance field is preferred; Journalism, English, Public Relations, Communications and Marketing majors are encouraged to apply. Candidates must include two writing samples with their application (maximum four pages each); at least one of the two writing samples must be a press release. Final round applicants will be asked to complete an original writing assignment
