The Photography Intern works with the Graphic Design/Website Manager and Festival Photographer to document Festival performances and events and to produce images for the promotion of Jacob's Pillow. The internship offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced professional environment and to understand the marketing and archival uses of photographic images. The intern photographs visiting companies in rehearsal when appropriate, dance classes in The School at Jacob's Pillow, donor and special events, talks, performances on the outdoor stage, and more. Intern responsibilities also include editing and cataloging all images taken and producing prints and photo CDs for Marketing and other departments in a timely manner. The Photography Intern interfaces on a professional level with all departments, the public, and company artists. As part of the Marketing team, the Photography Intern also helps to develop strategy and execute target-marketing promotions, assists with research, and works in the Box Office each week. Candidates should possess a strong background in digital photography.

Candidates should be comfortable shooting live action in low, in/outdoor, and varying light situations. Additionally, candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, organized, and effective time managers with a proficiency in Lightroom and a working knowledge of Photoshop. At least one of the required references or recommendations must be from a photography professor/instructor/professional. Candidates must submit a digital portfolio with their application.
