Afro Latin Jazz and Soul Experience | Collaborator
Miriam M. Gallardo is a Bronx-raised dancer, choreographer, and cultural collaborator whose artistic journey was sparked by a desire to connect with her Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage. Inspired by her parents’ roots, she began studying Bomba y Plena at age 7 with La Ramitas de Borinquen and later trained in Mambo On2/Salsa under David Melendez. Her foundation was further enriched through classical music and theory studies at the Bronx Conservatory of Music.
Miriam’s work blends tradition with innovation, from teaching and performing across South Africa to collaborating with artists like Tito Nieves, Tito Puente Jr., and Larry Harlow. She has also been featured in work with the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, Sekou McMiller Dance Co., Los Pleneros de la 21, and the International Salsa Museum.
