Ryoko Kudo is a dance artist and a passionate teacher of movement. After dancing with Graham’s second company under the direction of Ken Topping, Kudo joined the Limón Dance Company under the direction of Carla Maxwell where she had the privilege to dance works by world-renowned choreographers such as Lubovich, Kylian, Linke, Koner, McKayle, and multiple works by Limón and Humphrey. She teaches and restages Limón works and has taught abroad at Ballet de Monterrey (Mexico), Canadian Children’s Dance Theater (Canada), Congresso Brasileiro de Dance Moderna (Brazil), Arte Centro (Guatemala), Bratislava Academy of Dance (Slovakia), ArtEz (Holland), Puglia Talenti (Italy), Casa de la Cultura (Mexico), Tecniche di Danza Moderna (Italy) and at schools in the U.S. such as SUNY Purchase, Point Park College, Bryn Mawr, Mont Clair, University of the Arts, Drexel University. She was an adjunct faculty at Marymount Manhattan College and is currently teaching at Simon’s Rock Early College, Berkshire Pulse, and Summers at Jacob’s Pillow since moving to the Berkshires in 2016. As an aerialist, Kudo performed at the Beijing Olympics and Hangzhou Ice Stage (China), Bregenz Opera (Austria), and the show Breaking Surface in NYC with Airealistic. Kudo received her training from Emerson College, The Boston Conservatory, Ailey School, Graham School, Limón Institute, Kane School of Core Integration for Pilates and is the co-owner of The Pilates Space in Great Barrington, MA.
