Anastacia “Stacia” Holden is a Ballet Faculty member and Repetiteur for Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, for the Joffrey Trainee and Studio Company Programs. Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Holden enjoyed a 14 year tenure with Joffrey Ballet. She performed a variety of works as a soloist and lead, including: Alexander Ekman’s Episode 31; Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella (Spring Fairy); Gerald Arpino’s Viva Vivaldi; Justin Peck’s Year of the Rabbit (Tiler); Kurt Jooss’ The Green Table (the Young Girl); Lar Lubovitch’s Othello (Bianca) and “…smile with my heart;” Paul Taylor’s Cloven Kingdom; Stanton Welch’s La Bayadère (Gamzatti) and Maninyas (first Pas de Deux); Wayne McGregor’s Infra; William Forsythe’s In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated; and Yuri Possokhov’s Don Quixote (Amore) and Bells (Mazurka). Holden has further developed roles by esteemed and internationally renowned choreographers, such as Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Ashley Page, Christopher Wheeldon, Myles Thatcher, Nicolas Blanc, and Val Caniparoli. In 2016, she was recognized by Pointe Magazine as one of twelve standout performers worldwide for her role as Red Woman in Jiri Kylian’s Forgotten Land and is staging repertory for Christopher Wheeldon’s The Nutcracker.
