JACOB’S PILLOW CURRICULUM IN MOTION™ FOUNDING ARTIST

Deborah Karp is a choreographer, dance educator, and performer. Her work has been presented on both coasts of the United States and has been supported by the District of Columbia Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the Clorox Company Foundation, and Dancers’ Group CA$H award. Karp is a Curriculum in Motion Founding Artist, collaborating with teachers at Monument Mountain Regional High School. She has also been on faculty with San Francisco Ballet’s Dance In Schools and Communities program, and Luna Dance Institute in Berkeley, CA, teaching dance classes to children and adults that focused on full inclusion through embodied artistic rigor and creative practice. She was a seven-year company member with Nancy Meehan Dance Company and has performed the work of Celeste Miller, Mariangela Lopez/Accidental Movement, Leyya Tawil/DANCE ELIXIR, and Megan Nicely Dance. Karp holds a Master’s in Education from University of Minnesota and a Minnesota K-12 Dance License.
