Angela’s Pulse Core Artist

Rosa Lisbeth Navarrete is a freelance Video Producer, Editor, Writer, Director, Actor, and Teaching Artist in Southern California. She was born in Bellavista Callao in Lima, Perú and raised in Los Angeles. Her immigrant experience nourishes her creative spirit and encourages her practice for community engagement in the arts. Her latest short film project Matriarchy (written and co-directed with Patricia Zamorano) was recently featured at The Schwules Museum in Berlin, Germany. Prior work experience in Film/TV has been with Disney, Color Force, Inc. in association with DreamWorks Studios, Univision Network, and Mun2 with ImaginaUs Productions. Her specialties are in film/television production, documentation, video editing, script coverage, subtitle translation work, and administrative support for production companies and non-profit arts organizations. Presently, she is a Resident Teaching Artist at The Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton, and she volunteers with Inner-City Filmmakers, Casa 0101 Theater, and Young Storytellers. Navarrete is a graduate of Inner-City Filmmakers (ICF); a non-profit film school based in Los Angeles created after the LA Uprising to diversify the entertainment industry. She holds an English B.A. from University of California, Berkeley with two minors in Creative Writing and Dance Performance and has a certification in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst (CLMA) through Integrated Movement Studies.
