Go behind-the-scenes with filmmakers David Barba and James Pellerito in this intimate portrait of Brazilian ballet star Marcelo Gomes. Widely considered the greatest dance partner of his generation, this documentary celebrates Gomes’s 20th anniversary with American Ballet Theatre. “Gomes proves an engaging subject, whose dedication is as inspiring as the breathtaking grace and strength of his dancing,” praises David Rooney of The Hollywood Reporter. Aug 27 | Restless Creature: Wendy Whelan

“As a child, I wanted to grow up to be an artist or an athlete. It was only later that I realized dance is both of those things combined.” Former principal dancer Wendy Whelan will be present at this screening to answer questions about her transition from New York City Ballet to her new roles in dance. Restless Creature, premiered at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in 2013 where Whelan performed with modern choreographers Kyle Abraham, Joshua Beamish, Brian Brooks, and Alejandro Cerrudo.
