Artistic Director of Compagnie Käfig, Mourad Merzouki, is at the forefront of the international hip-hop world. An artistic encounter between Lyon- based choreographer Merzouki and a group of young dancers from Rio De Janeiro has resulted in a sensational combination of athletic Samba, hip-hop, and capoeira dance styles.
Inspired by the dancers' stories of growing up in Brazilian shantytowns, Merzouki created Correria and Agwa, two works that showcase astonishing acrobatic skills and dance virtuosity, as well as irresistible personality and spirit. The dancers of Compagnie Käfig, returning to the Pillow for the first time in ten years, are sure to bring audiences to their feet.
