Observation

Watch The School’s Dancers in the studio

Everyone is welcome to observe The School’s highly accomplished student body working with world-renowned Artist Faculty in the Perles Family Studio at designated times during the day for the following programs: Contemporary Ballet, Flamenco & Spanish Dance, Contemporary, and Tap. Please observe quietly; no note-taking, photography, or video recording allowed.

Observation Schedules are available one week prior to program start dates and are posted online, on campus bulletin boards, at the Perles Family Studio, or by calling the Box Office at 413.243.0745. Schedules are subject to change. We make every effort to share changes as promptly as possible.

Enjoy The School’s Dancers on Stage

A beloved tradition, Inside/Out presentations on the Henry J. Leir stage by The School at Jacob’s Pillow are free, open to the public, and held Saturdays, 6:15-7pm, against the breathtaking panoramic backdrop of the Berkshire Hills. Dancers and Artist Faculty share work accomplished in the studio during the week, followed by an informal Q&A. Come experience the passion of our dancers and learn about the rigor required to train as a performer and be integral to an artist’s creative process.

Run-through rehearsals are open for observation on Saturdays if held outdoors. These generally run 3:30-4:30pm, but are subject to artistic and production needs that particular day. In the event of rain, Inside/Out will be held in the Perles Family Studio. Seating is limited.

Other special opportunities to support dancers of The School include presentations in the historic Ted Shawn Theatre. Contemporary Ballet Program dancers premiere a new work at the Festival Season Opening Gala on Friday, June 15 and Tap Program dancers present Gotta Dance, a benefit for The School at Jacob’s Pillow on Sunday, August 18. Come enjoy a unique audience experience and celebrate The School’s dancers as they share the artistry they have been cultivating in the studio. Tickets to these events go on sale to the public April 1, 2019.
