Charla Genn is currently on the ballet faculty of The Juilliard School. In addition, she instructs professional ballet company classes in New York City at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dance Theater of Harlem, Jessica Lang Dance, and The Metropolitan Opera. Genn coaches professional ballet dancers from American Ballet Theater, Berlin Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem, Dutch National Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, and The Washington Ballet. Genn is also a Dance Rehabilitation Specialist who works one on one with professional ballet dancers recovering from injuries and surgery. As a guest teacher, Genn has worked at Alberta Ballet, Batsheva Dance Company, Body Traffic, Cape Town City Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet Academy, Japan Ballet Society, Keigwin & Company, LA Dance Project, Les Ballet Jazz de Montreal, Rocky Mountain Ballet Theater, South African Ballet Theatre, and The Washington Ballet. Genn’s works have appeared on Jacob’s Pillow stages and she has previously guested as faculty for The School at Jacob’s Pillow.
