John Fischer is an esteemed music director and pianist based New York City. For the past nine years, he has served as Music Director for the Broadway’s Rising Stars, Broadway Originals concerts at Town Hall and has worked with esteemed artists such as Judy Collins, Kate Winslet, Mickey Dolenz, Jennifer Holiday, and Michele Lee. He most recently music directed and recorded a live CD for Tony Award winner Alice Ripley and Tony nominee Emily Skinner’s cabaret show, Unattached, at 54 Below. Further credits include playing/conducting for Talk of the Town at Bank Street Theatre, Take Me Along at Irish Rep, Naked Boys Singing at New World Stages, and playing for the Broadway revival of West Side Story. Regional music director credits include Hello Dolly!, Funny Girl, The King and I, Gypsy, No No Nanette, The Pirates of Penzance, Peter Pan, and Oliver among others. Fischer has worked as music director or accompanist for Applause Theatrical Workshops Inc, AMDA, HB Studios, The New School, The Growing Studio, and The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute.
