2024-25 Application Deadlines

To apply, please submit a complete application, which includes:

  • Application form and essay 
  • Resume (Can include education, dance study, awards, and other achievements. 3 pages maximum.)
  • Choreographic Sample URL or Video File (Please provide a sample of your choreography. No longer than 3 minutes.)
  • Choreographic Sample Description (What is important for us to know about this sample of your work? 150 words maximum.)

So that we can provide individualized support and attention to all participants, the cohort is limited to a maximum of 14 participants. International applicants (outside of USA) are welcome to apply. Your application will be reviewed within two weeks of receipt. Upon receipt of your application, an interview will be scheduled with a Curriculum in Motion® Institute Program Director. You will receive notification of acceptance within one week of the interview.

The subsidized tuition for the 2024-25 Curriculum in Motion® Institute is $2,450. This fee includes:

  • Two in-person weekend modules at Jacob’s Pillow
    • Module 1 (Opening Weekend Module) includes: Housing, meals, and ground transportation
    • Module 5 (Closing Weekend Module) includes: Meals, tickets to Festival performances and events, and ground transportation
  • Monthly learning labs (Zoom)
  • Monthly “Coffee Klatches” with peers (Zoom)
  • Peer-to-peer co-mentoring pods (Zoom)
  • A 100+ page workbook
  • Mentored support to build your Curriculum in Motion® project in your community
  • Mentored support to create a Final Project Retrospective for presentation during the 2025 Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival

Payment Schedule:
Pay in full on acceptance, or payments can be made on the following schedule*:

  • $950 upon program acceptance
  • $500 by Oct. 3, 2024
  • $500 by Jan. 10, 2025
  • $500 by April 11, 2025

*Alternate payment plans can be arranged in consultation with Pillow staff.

We recognize the financial difficulties and uncertainties of this time. Jacob’s Pillow and Institute Directors have partially subsidized the 2024-25 fees in an effort to keep tuition costs manageable. Limited scholarship funds provided by Jacob’s Pillow are available.

To support your attendance, we also recommend looking into external sources for financial assistance. These may include artist relief funds in your area, professional development support from your school or institution, and personal fundraising campaigns. We will be happy to provide letters of support and other materials.

If you request to cancel your participation in the Institute prior to the program start date (Oct. 3, 2024) and have completed payments, please refer to the refund policy below:

  • 100% refund of first payment ($950) if withdrawal notification is received prior to program start date (Before or by Aug. 30, 2024 @ 11:59pm EST)
  • 50% refund of first payment if withdrawal notification is received one week prior to the program start date (Before or by Sept. 26, 2024 @ 11:59pm EST)
  • No refund of first payment if withdrawal notification is received after Sept. 26, 2024 @ 11:59pm EST

Any additional installments completed by the program start date will be fully refunded.
