Community Residency with Arcell Cabuag, Associate Director of
Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE

July 16-20, 2018

Join Jacob’s Pillow, in partnership with The Funk Box Dance Studio (Pittsfield), Olga Dunn School of Dance (Great Barrington), the Williams College Department of Theatre & Dance (Williamstown), Youth Alive! (Pittsfield), and Lift Ev’ry Voice (North Adams) for a series of FREE community dance workshops and activities taking place across Berkshire County.

These workshops and events strive to bring dancers of all ages and backgrounds together to participate in fun and engaging movement and community conversation. All workshops will be led by EVIDENCE Associate Artistic Director Arcell Cabuag, who is celebrating his 20th year with the company as a dancer and director.

Featuring movements from Ronald K. Brown’s blended style of contemporary, African, and Caribbean dance styles classes begin with a warm-up and continue with movements that teach, rhythm, and using the body to express ideas. Themes of strength, prayer, celebration and other gestures from the Evidence repertory are incorporated into the movement that is taught.

Participants should dress in loose fitting clothing.

All participants require a liability waiver. Participants younger than 18 require a parent/guardian signature.
